What is Protocols?

Protocols are the connection types a tool speaks, and they drive speed, privacy and how easily a network can block the connection. AirVPN supports OpenVPN and WireGuard, a lean set. Astrill VPN adds proprietary options on top of the usual names with OpenWeb, OpenVPN and StealthVPN, while Amnezia VPN offers the widest menu of the group with AmneziaWG, XRay Reality and OpenVPN. AdGuard and AdGuard DNS work across encrypted DNS standards, with doh, dot and doq supported on both. More protocols give readers more room to pick a connection that survives a restrictive network.
