Pros and cons
ESET Brasil
Pros
- First-year price of BRL 64.22 ranks 1 of 36, ahead of the €49.95 category median.
- Support runs on phone, email and help centre, with phone and email alongside self service material.
- Protection plans bundle vpn and parental controls, so one subscription carries a VPN and child controls.
Cons
- Device cover runs 1 to 25, short of the 50 that Comodo (Xcitium) covers, so wider estates must shop elsewhere.
- The free version is reached through the mobile security app rather than a desktop product, and the model is listed as free.
- The bundled VPN reaches 40 to 70, below the 74 median across antivirus listings.
Mysterium VPN
Pros
- 15 devices on one account is the widest device limit among the 80 brands scored on it, well past the 7 category median.
- Servers in from 100 countries sit above the 48.5 median for the category.
- The client is open source, a choice 56.6% of the brands in the ranking make.
Cons
- Monthly pricing of $10.49 to $18.49 places it at 86 of 133 on cost, above the €7.89 category median.
- The long term plan at $2.59 to $4.79 ranks 23 of 112, so the discount is thinner than most rivals manage.
- Support runs on email, chat and help centre only.
Who each suits
ESET Brasil
Who it suits
- Households in Brazil wanting one subscription to carry a VPN and child controls next to antivirus
- Small business buyers who need disk and removable media encryption alongside a server edition
- Readers who want a free mobile app and a paid trial before paying for anything
Who should look elsewhere
- Buyers who need very wide device cover, since plans stop at 1 to 25 where Comodo (Xcitium) reaches 50
- People fully inside the Apple ecosystem, where iOS, iPadOS and macOS already carry built in security
- Anyone budgeting in USD, since this line quotes BRL under BR where Vipre Security lists $14.99
Mysterium VPN
Who it suits
- Households and small teams that want 15 device slots on one account, well above the 7 median.
- Readers who want a browser extension and desktop and mobile apps on the same plan, since Android, iOS and macOS covers all of them.
- People who put a written no logs pledge and open source code above a low monthly price.
Who should look elsewhere
- Apple Inc., whose own privacy subscription is $0.99 a month, if a light browsing tool is enough.
- Sinew Software Systems at $1.99 a month, when stored passwords are the real problem.
- ESET Brasil, which covers 3 to 25 on its antivirus plans, when you want endpoint protection instead of a tunnel.

Questions about each
ESET Brasil
What does ESET Brasil cost in the first year, and what happens at renewal?+
First-year price is BRL 64.22, and that figure is also the entry price. Annual prices run BRL 64.22 to BRL 278.32, so a later term can cost more than the first. Plan for the top of the yearly range rather than the entry figure. A 30 trial and a 30 money back guarantee sit on the paid plans.
How many devices can one subscription protect?+
Plans cover 1 to 25. The range starts below the 5.5 median for antivirus listings and stops well short of 50, which Comodo (Xcitium) covers. A shared home subscription is offered for a household, so a family covers its own devices under one plan.
Mysterium VPN
What does Mysterium VPN cost month to month and on a long term plan?+
The monthly plan costs $10.49 to $18.49. Longer commitments are cheaper per month, with the long term plan at $2.59 to $4.79 and the longest term running 24 months. Both figures sit above the €7.89 monthly median for the category, so the saving comes from committing rather than from a lower opening rate.
How many devices can one Mysterium VPN account cover?+
One account covers 15 devices, and the plan places 1 of 80 brands on that measure. For context, the median device allowance in the category is 7, so a household with a phone, a laptop, a desktop and a browser extension stays inside the limit.
